KAAMUT® Cast Iron Wok – Use & Care Guide

Before First Use

  1. Wash the wok with hot water and a soft sponge or cloth.
  2. Dry the wok completely.
  3. Season the wok before first use.

Seasoning Instructions

To create a natural non-stick surface and protect the wok from rust, proper seasoning is recommended before first use.

Recommended Oils

Use oils with a high smoke point, such as:

  • Peanut oil
  • Palm oil
  • Avocado oil
  • Grapeseed oil

How to Season Your Wok

  1. Place the wok over medium heat.
  2. Heat until the entire surface is evenly warm.
  3. Apply a thin layer of oil to the inside surface using a soft cloth or paper towel.
  4. Reduce the heat to low.
  5. Continue heating for approximately 10 minutes.
  6. Allow the wok to cool naturally.
  7. Repeat the process 1–2 times for best results.

Note

Small dark residue or particles during seasoning are completely normal.

Daily Care & Maintenance

After each use:

  • Rinse the wok with hot water.
  • Clean using a soft cloth or bamboo wok brush.
  • Avoid harsh detergents and abrasive scrubbers.
  • Dry the wok thoroughly after cleaning.
  • Apply a very thin layer of oil before storing.

Important Care Tips

  • Never use steel wool or abrasive cleaning pads.
  • Do not leave the wok soaking in water.
  • Always store the wok in a dry place.
  • Over time, the wok will naturally develop a durable non-stick patina.

Storage

For best long-term protection, store your wok completely dry with a light protective coating of oil.
