KAAMUT® Cast Iron Wok – Use & Care Guide
Before First Use
- Wash the wok with hot water and a soft sponge or cloth.
- Dry the wok completely.
- Season the wok before first use.
Seasoning Instructions
To create a natural non-stick surface and protect the wok from rust, proper seasoning is recommended before first use.
Recommended Oils
Use oils with a high smoke point, such as:
- Peanut oil
- Palm oil
- Avocado oil
- Grapeseed oil
How to Season Your Wok
- Place the wok over medium heat.
- Heat until the entire surface is evenly warm.
- Apply a thin layer of oil to the inside surface using a soft cloth or paper towel.
- Reduce the heat to low.
- Continue heating for approximately 10 minutes.
- Allow the wok to cool naturally.
- Repeat the process 1–2 times for best results.
Note
Small dark residue or particles during seasoning are completely normal.
Daily Care & Maintenance
After each use:
- Rinse the wok with hot water.
- Clean using a soft cloth or bamboo wok brush.
- Avoid harsh detergents and abrasive scrubbers.
- Dry the wok thoroughly after cleaning.
- Apply a very thin layer of oil before storing.
Important Care Tips
- Never use steel wool or abrasive cleaning pads.
- Do not leave the wok soaking in water.
- Always store the wok in a dry place.
- Over time, the wok will naturally develop a durable non-stick patina.
Storage
For best long-term protection, store your wok completely dry with a light protective coating of oil.
